This Privacy Policy describes how Island Bytes ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Thirsty Bean mobile application (the "App"), a service for finding coffee shops. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and display name. We do not collect or store passwords; sign-in is handled by Google and Firebase Authentication.
• Location. With your permission, the App accesses your device's precise and approximate location to show your position on the map, find nearby coffee shops, and enable check-ins. Location data is also used to improve the service and for analytics (see below). You can disable location access at any time in your device settings.
• Content you submit. Check-ins, saved lists and favorites, corrections to place information, and feedback you send us.
• Usage and device data. App activity such as screens viewed, searches performed, and places selected; and technical information such as your device type, operating system and version, app version, IP address, and app-level identifiers used to distinguish your device.

How we use information

• To provide and operate the App, including maps, search, and check-ins.
• To create and manage your account.
• To operate raffles and deliver prizes you claim.
• To analyze usage, fix problems, and improve the App.
• To communicate with you about the service.

How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share information with service providers that process it on our behalf:

• Google / Firebase. Firebase Authentication (sign-in), Firebase Realtime Database, and Google Analytics for Firebase (usage and location analytics).
• Our backend. Data you submit (check-ins, corrections, favorites, prize claims) is stored on servers operated by Island Bytes.
• We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

Analytics and advertising identifiers

The App uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the App is used. This service uses mobile device identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID and the Identifier for Advertisers on iOS) and similar technologies to collect and process data. You can limit this collection by resetting or limiting your device's advertising identifier in your device settings (on iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking and Apple Advertising; on Android: Settings > Privacy > Ads), or by disabling location permission for the App.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. See our Account & Data Deletion page for how to do this.

Children

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
